MAKE A MARK is a 12-hour creative marathon dedicated to supporting local humanitarian causes, a concept I've passionately embraced by participating in the Brussels edition every year. However, in 2022, I took on a different role. Gwen, the creative force behind the scenes, approached me to collaborate on the branding for that year's event.
The challenge was to craft a local, creatively infused universe with a foundation of goodness.
The journey began with a simple question: What leaves a MARK? Just like a cheerful Bruxelloise rain cloud leaves a puddle, Magritte leaves us with some pipe smoke (and an asteroid belt), and a dinosaur leaves us with a fossil (now showcased in the largest 'dinosaurs' gallery in Europe). These analogies capture the impact we aimed to make on the D-date.
We explored intriguing facts about our beloved city, unearthing six compelling narratives about Brussels that laid the groundwork for a handcrafted, playful, and expressive universe.Pss, for those in the creative sector, keep an eye on the application dates – you might want to be part of this remarkable experience.
